NASA’s Light-Based Medical Breakthrough

Applications now include treating diabetic skin ulcers, third-degree burns, bone regeneration, muscle and joint pain, brain injuries, and aging skin. From cancer centers to professional sports medicine, military field hospitals to space station medical bays, HEALS continues to transform medicine.
NASA scientists are now developing next-generation devices for deep space missions, advanced healing protocols, and portable units for disaster relief. What began as a solution for astronauts has become one of medicine’s most versatile tools, proving that sometimes the most powerful solutions come from something as simple as light itself.
